Just before 7:00am on Friday morning, Croton Falls Fire Car 2072, Engine 149, and Utility 48 responded to a working house fire in Somers. Due to advanced fire conditions on all floors, the structure deteriorated rapidly leading to a defensive operation. Engine 149 and Utility 48 operated hose lines on the Charlie and Delta sides of the structure while Car 2072 assisted with fireground operations. A second alarm was transmitted shortly after Croton Falls units arrived bringing in additional fire companies from Westchester and Putnam Counties. Croton Falls operated for 3 hours before returning in service.
