At 18:49 hours, Croton Falls Fire was dispatched to a reported barn fire on Titicus Road. While responding, Car 2071 transmitted a 10-75. Car 2073 arrived on scene with smoke showing from a 2.5 story barn converted into living space. Engine 148 arrived on scene and made entry through the front door while a second line was stretched to an exterior basement access. Engine 148 encountered a large hole in the floor just inside the front door forcing them to operate within the front door entry way. Tanker 88 arrived and hooked into Engine 148 while Tanker 8 reverse laid the driveway to set up a portable water source for mutual aid tankers. Car 2072, Ladder 67, Tanker 88, and Tanker 8’s crews worked to ventilate the structure and open up areas with pockets of fire. Firefighters from Somers, South Salem, Goldens Bridge, Katonah, Bedford Hills, Brewster, and Mahopac assisted with fireground operations while Carmel FD stood by at Croton Falls Fire House.
While operating, MA-17 handled an automatic fire alarm on Delancey Road along with Goldens Bridge Engine 140.
Units operated on scene for about four hours before returning in service. Thank you to all of our mutual partners for the assistance.
