On Sunday, October 6th, the CFFD Open House was held at Croton Falls Fire Headquarters located 1 Sun Valley Drive. Open House is offered in the beginning of October to kick-off fire prevention week. During our open house, we held several stations for both children and adults to partake and learn about what we do on a daily basis.
The stations included;
- Operate a hurst tool (Jaws of Life) used to extricate patients from motor vehicle accidents and other incidents. - Operate a booster line and extinguish a simulated fire. - Operate a fire extinguisher and extinguish a cooking fire. - Operate a water can and extinguish a propane fed fire. - Operate airbags to lift a vehicle in the event of an incident requiring a patient pinned under a vehicle. - Tanker pond/Water supply simulation for incidents requiring excessive amounts of water. - Fire truck rides - Obstacle Course for Children wearing PPE - Recruitment Table

- Bouncy House for Children - Ice Cream Emergency and Refreshments - Pumpkin Painting
