Thirty-two minutes into 2024, CFFD was dispatched to a residential fire alarm on Hilltop Drive. Car 2073 arrived on scene with smoke throughout the house. Ladder 67 and Engine 148 arrived on scene and began investigating a possible chimney fire. After the fire was extinguished in the fireplace and the chimney was cleared, units vented the structure for about an hour before clearing. Car 2073, Ladder 67, Engine 148, and Tanker 88 operated.

At 05:10 hours, CFFD with NSVAC was dispatched to an address near the Ridgefield town line for a missing person. Car 2072 requested a drone from the Yorktown Heights Fire Department, while NYSP requested a drone from the Putnam County Sheriffs Office and Department of Environmental Protection. Car 2073, Engine 148, Rescue 28, Utility 64, and Utility 28 were canvassing nearby properties and structures as a DEP helicopter was searching overhead. YHFD and PCSO had their drones deployed while searching large wooded areas for heat signals. While 2073, E148, and R28 crews were near the Ridgefield town line, an audible fire alarm could be heard in the distance. It was determined by NYSP dispatch to be at the Ridgefield High School. NYSP, Car 2073, E148, and R28 arrived on scene of the High School and were met with Ridgefield FD. As CFFD was released from the High School, the missing subject was located in Connecticut and all agencies went back in service after three and a half hours.

At 10:00 hours, the Swearing Ceremony for the CFFD Chiefs commenced. Chief of Department Jeffrey Daday, First Assistant Chief Paul D’Agostino, and Second Assistant Chief Mark McCabe were sworn in for their second year in their current positions. During the pre-ceremony, CFFD responded to an additional alarm.

Thanks.

Good afternoon,

If you look on the website's home page, it'll be on the left hand side right below the links section. It'll say "Donate - Paypal". Thank you very much!

Best, CFFD
