On May 30th At 5:55pm, Croton Falls Fire along with North Salem and Westchester EMS were dispatched to Interstate 684 Southbound for a reported rollover. While en route, an additional accident was reported on the interstate in the Northbound lanes. Cars 2071, 2072, and 2073 arrived on scene and determined one accident spanning the northbound and southbound lanes with multiple injuries. An additional ambulance from North Salem VAC and an additional Medic from Westchester EMS were requested. Rescue 28 and Engine 149 provided vehicle stabilization and assisted with patient assessment, while Engine 148 provided traffic control.
While operating on the interstate, fire units were dispatched to Oak Ridge Road for an outside smoke condition. Car 2072 and Engine 149 determined the cause to be residual smoke from the wildfires in Nova Scotia, Canada. Later in the evening, units were dispatched to the area of Titicus Road and Oak Ridge Road for an outside odor of smoke, which was determined to be the same outcome.
On May 31st at 5:27pm, Croton Falls Fire was dispatched with North Salem VAC and Westchester EMS to Interstate 684 Northbound for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. NSVAC 72B1 arrived on location within moments confirming the accident to be in the Brewster fire district and advised 60 Control of multiple patients. While en route, Car 2073 requested the Brewster Fire Department and Putnam EMS to assist. Car 2073, Rescue 28, Engine 148, and Engine 149 operated for 30 minutes before turning over the scene to NYSP and Brewster Fire.
