Engine 148 Responds to Second Alarm in Somers

At 4:50pm on Wednesday afternoon, Engine 148 responded to Somers for a second alarm structure fire in the Preserves Complex. Somers FD Car 2441 arrived on scene with a 2 1/2 story single family dwelling with heavy fire showing. Upon arrival, Car 2072, 2073, and Engine 148's crew stretched a 2.5" hose line to the rear of the structure, while other 148 crew members ventilated the second floor in the rear. After the bulk of fire was knocked down, 148's crew worked alongside YHFD members with overhauling the second floor and soaking hot spots. Crews operated for 4 hours before returning in service.
