At 06:28 hours on Tuesday, January 30th Croton Falls firefighters were dispatched to a reported barn fire on Vail Lane. Upon arrival, C-2072 (Asst. Chief D’Agostino) confirmed a structure fire in a conex box that housed a small commercial farming operation. Firefighters operating with Engine 148, Tanker 8 and Tanker 88 quickly knocked down the fire and prevented its extension to two nearby wooden barns. An investigation by the Westchester County Cause & Origin Team determined the fire was caused by an electrical issue. After two hours of operations, overhaul and investigation, the incident commander C-2071 (Chief Daday) released all units.
