Firefighters Complete Annual Testing of Ladders, Hoses and Nozzles

On Saturday, July 15th firefighters worked with one of our vendors to complete annual testing of the Department's hoses, nozzles and ladders. This important activity ensures our equipment is in good, safe condition and able to withstand the rigors of firefighting operations.
The testing was done in a parking lot at the North Salem Middle/High School to ensure sufficient space was available for testing activities. Each length of hose, over 13,000 feet in total, was tested to a specified pressure for a period of time while each ladder was tested in a variety of ways to ensure structural integrity.
